CONTROL directed by anton corbijn and featuring sam riley, samantha morton & the lovely alexandra maria lara. i really liked this film, from the direction, the casting, the performances, the wardrobe, the soundtrack, the awesomeness of this newly released Blu-ray and the cinematography. it’s a very intimate film in b&w and shot on a very small scale, which is what makes it wonderful. a nice touch is the film conveying how ian curtis’ personal life would find its way into the songs he wrote and performed right after he had those experiences. and alexandra maria lara is simply beautiful and sublime. photo by chris anthony diaz & graham willcox
